How Our CDL Training Program Works
Our classes are focused on helping you prepare for and pass the CDL test. You will also gain valuable skills that will continue to benefit you throughout your trucking career. Our program includes classroom/online learning, hands-on range training, and actual truck driving experience.
Prepare for the Written CDL Test
The first portion of the CDL test is a written exam that covers information related to safety and operation of semi-trucks. Phoenix Truck Driving School prepares you for the general knowledge test as well as three endorsements: hazardous materials (hazmat), tanker, and doubles/triples. We go over the material for these tests in a classroom or online environment and work with you to make sure you are confident and ready for the exam. After you pass, you will earn your commercial learner’s permit (CLP) and will be able to transition into range training.
Hands-On Truck Driver Training
Once you pass the written part of the CDL test, you will be able to start practicing for the skills test. During this time, you will drive a tractor-trailer under the supervision of our instructors. We will also go over how to perform a pre-trip inspection. There are no driving simulators at Phoenix Truck Driving School. You will learn with real manual transmission semi-trucks to get the full experience of what professional driving is like.
